Pizza Stuffed Waffle Snacks are a delicious twist on traditional pizza, combining the flavors of pizza with the fun of waffles.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 ¾ cups milk
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup diced pepperoni (or your choice of toppings)
- Cooking spray or melted butter for the waffle iron
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, mixing until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Gently fold in the shredded mozzarella cheese and diced pepperoni.
- Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or melted butter.
- Pour about ½ cup of the batter onto the center of the preheated waffle iron, close the lid, and cook for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully remove the waffle and repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the pepperoni with diced bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives.
- Add a teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes to the batter for a spicy kick.
