Description

A quick and easy recipe for bok choy sautéed with a flavorful ginger chili sauce, perfect as a side dish or light meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the halved bok choy to the skillet, cut side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bok choy starts to wilt.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, and sesame oil. Toss to coat the bok choy evenly.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the bok choy is tender but still bright green. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using. Serve immediately.

  • For added protein, toss in some cooked chicken or tofu during the last few minutes of cooking.
