Description

Vibrant, tangy, and luxuriously frothy, this Raspberry Passionfruit Tequila Sour is a tropical twist on a cocktail classic. Bursting with the bold flavors of raspberry, citrus, and passionfruit, it’s the perfect drink to shake up your next summer evening or cocktail hour with its striking color and smooth finish.

Ingredients

2 oz silver or blanco tequila
1 oz passionfruit juice (fresh or store-bought)
1 oz raspberry syrup (store-bought or homemade)
¾ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
½ oz simple syrup (optional, to taste)
1 egg white or 1 oz aquafaba (for vegan option)
Ice
Fresh raspberries, for garnish
Lime wedge, for garnish

For Homemade Raspberry Syrup (optional):
½ cup raspberries
½ cup sugar
½ cup water

To make syrup: Simmer raspberries, sugar, and water together until slightly thickened (about 5–7 minutes). Strain and let cool before using.

Instructions

  • Juice the lime and prepare all ingredients. If using homemade raspberry syrup, simmer and strain it ahead of time.

  • Add tequila, passionfruit juice, raspberry syrup, lime juice, simple syrup (if using), and egg white or aquafaba to a cocktail shaker.

  • Dry shake (no ice) for 15–20 seconds to build a strong foam.

  • Add ice to the shaker and shake again vigorously for another 15–20 seconds.

  • Double strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or martini glass.

  • Garnish with fresh raspberries, a lime wedge, or a passionfruit slice.

  • Serve immediately and enjoy the frothy, fruity flavor.

Notes

Dry shaking first is key for achieving a silky foam texture.
Simple syrup is optional and can be reduced or omitted if your juices or raspberry syrup are sweet enough.
For a vegan cocktail, aquafaba (chickpea water) provides a great substitute for egg white.
Chill your glass beforehand for the best presentation and experience.
