Description

A delicious and visually stunning dessert that combines the rich flavors of red velvet cake with a creamy strawberry cheesecake topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups red velvet cake mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, melted butter, egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Pour the red velvet batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar together until creamy and smooth. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until well incorporated.
  5. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
  6. Once the red velvet cake has cooled, remove it from the pan and place it on a serving plate. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of the cake.
  7. Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese layer. If desired, sprinkle chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish.
  8. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the cream cheese mixture.
  • Substitute the strawberries with other berries like raspberries or blueberries for a different twist.
