Description
Indulge in this Rich and Gooey Snickers Cake, a chocolate overload that combines layers of chocolate cake with creamy peanut butter frosting and Snickers bars.
Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
- 1 cup chopped Snickers bars (about 4–5 bars)
- 1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- While the cakes are cooling, prepare the peanut butter frosting. In a medium bowl, beat together the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture until well combined.
- Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the peanut butter frosting on top, then sprinkle half of the chopped Snickers bars over the frosting.
- Place the second cake layer on top and spread the remaining peanut butter frosting over the top and sides of the cake. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top and sprinkle with remaining Snickers, chopped peanuts, and mini chocolate chips if desired.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For an extra chocolatey flavor, add a layer of chocolate ganache on top of the peanut butter frosting.
- Substitute the Snickers bars with your favorite candy bars, such as Reese’s or Milky Way, for a different flavor profile.
