Ingredients
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, cleaned and halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4–5 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
- 2–3 tablespoons hot honey
- Oil spray or extra oil, as needed
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Wash and dry the Brussels sprouts, then halve them lengthwise.
- Toss the sprouts in a large bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Lightly grease a sheet pan and arrange the sprouts cut side down in a single layer. Scatter chopped bacon pieces around them.
- Roast for 15–18 minutes, until the edges of the sprouts are golden and the bacon is crisp.
- Remove the pan from the oven and drizzle the hot honey over the sprouts and bacon. Toss gently to coat evenly.
- Return the pan to the oven and roast for an additional 5 minutes, or until the desired crispness is achieved.
- Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy with extra hot honey on the side.
Notes
- Use fresh, firm Brussels sprouts for the best results.
- To make hot honey at home, mix 1/2 cup honey with 1–2 teaspoons red chili flakes and heat gently.
- For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and add smoked paprika for a similar smoky flavor.
