Description
A flavorful and healthy grilled tofu dish with Asian-inspired marinade.
Ingredients
- 1 block (14 ounces) firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Slice the pressed tofu into 1/2-inch thick slabs.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, maple syrup, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sriracha (if using).
- Place the tofu slices in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove the tofu from the marinade and let any excess drip off.
- Grill the tofu for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
- Once grilled, sprinkle the tofu with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding a tablespoon of peanut butter to the marinade for a creamy texture.
- You can also substitute the tofu with tempeh for a nuttier taste and firmer texture.
