Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 ounces) firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Slice the pressed tofu into 1/2-inch thick slabs.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, maple syrup, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sriracha (if using).
  3. Place the tofu slices in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  5. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Remove the tofu from the marinade and let any excess drip off.
  7. Grill the tofu for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
  8. Once grilled, sprinkle the tofu with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
