Description

A delicious and savory BBQ bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin recipe that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork tenderloin
  • 12 slices of bacon
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork tenderloin.
  3. Lay the bacon slices out on a clean surface, slightly overlapping each slice. Place the seasoned pork tenderloin at one end of the bacon and carefully roll it up, wrapping the bacon around the tenderloin. Tuck the ends of the bacon underneath the tenderloin to secure it.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, sear the bacon-wrapped tenderloin for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.
  5. Transfer the seared tenderloin to the wire rack on the baking sheet. Brush the barbecue sauce generously over the top of the bacon-wrapped pork.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145°F (63°C). Brush with additional barbecue sauce halfway through cooking if desired.
  7. Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the tenderloin rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the spice mixture or use a spicy barbecue sauce.
  • You can substitute turkey bacon for a leaner option, but be aware that cooking times may vary slightly.
