Description

A delicious and flavorful steak recipe infused with bourbon and garlic, perfect for a special dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ribeye steak
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup bourbon whiskey
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat your grill or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Generously season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  3. Drizzle olive oil into the skillet or brush it onto the grill.
  4. Once hot, place the steak on the surface and sear for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish.
  5. Transfer the steak to a plate and allow it to rest for 5 minutes.
  6. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the chopped garlic. Sauté for about a minute until aromatic.
  7. Gradually pour in the bourbon, scraping up any flavorful bits stuck to the pan.
  8. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until it reduces slightly.
  9. Incorporate the heavy whipping cream, whole grain mustard, and soy sauce into the mixture.
  10. Allow the sauce to simmer gently for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens.
  11. Slice the rested steak against the grain into thick pieces and arrange them on a serving platter.
  12. Spoon the bourbon-infused garlic sauce over the steak and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Adjust the cooking time based on your preferred steak doneness.
  • Make sure not to let the garlic brown to avoid bitterness.
  • This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad.
