Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound boneless chicken breast or beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small head green cabbage, shredded (about 4 cups)
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced meat and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the meat from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage, sliced bell pepper, and julienned carrot to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  4. Return the cooked meat to the skillet. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and ground black pepper. Stir well to combine and heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the meat with tofu or tempeh.
