Description

A quick and delicious stir-fry featuring tender flank steak and crisp vegetables, all tossed in a savory sesame sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced flank steak and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage, carrots, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  5. Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to combine everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  6. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the stir-fry and toss to combine. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or sliced jalapeños during cooking.
  • You can substitute the beef with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
