Description
A quick and delicious stir-fry featuring tender flank steak and crisp vegetables, all tossed in a savory sesame sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced flank steak and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the shredded cabbage, carrots, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to combine everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the stir-fry and toss to combine. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or sliced jalapeños during cooking.
- You can substitute the beef with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
