Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, chicken broth, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they turn pink and opaque.
- Return the broccoli to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over the shrimp and broccoli. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over cooked rice.
Notes
- For added heat, include red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha in the sauce.
- Substitute shrimp with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
