Description

A delicious fusion of shrimp and grilled cheese, combining savory flavors and gooey cheese for a delightful meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Preheat another skillet or griddle over medium heat. Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  4. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Layer half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top of the bread.
  5. Add the cooked shrimp evenly over the cheese, then top with the remaining cheese and the other two slices of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the shrimp marinade.
  • Substitute the shrimp with cooked chicken or turkey for a different protein option.
