Description

This Skillet Bow Tie Lasagna is a one-pan wonder that delivers all the rich, cheesy, saucy comfort of traditional lasagna—without the layering or long bake time. Made with hearty ground meat, tender pasta, and a cheesy topping, it’s the perfect weeknight dinner that the whole family will love.

Ingredients

  • ½ pound ground beef

  • ½ pound pork sausage (or substitute with all ground beef)

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes

  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce

  • 1½ cups water

  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2½ cups dry bow tie pasta

  • ¾ cup cottage cheese

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Brown the Meat
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, pork sausage, and chopped onion until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  • Add Sauce and Pasta
Stir in garlic, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, parsley, basil, oregano, and salt. Mix in the dry bow tie pasta.

  • Simmer Until Tender
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked through and tender.

  • Add the Cheesy Layer
In a small bowl, combine cottage cheese and Parmesan. Drop spoonfuls over the pasta mixture.

  • Melt and Serve
Cover and cook for 5 more minutes. Uncover, sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top, and cook an additional 2 minutes until melted. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use Italian sausage for added flavor, or keep it lighter with just ground beef.

  • Swap cottage cheese with ricotta for a more traditional lasagna feel.

  • Add spinach or zucchini for extra veggies and nutrients.

  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for 3–4 days.
