Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds cubed steak
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Place the cubed steak in the slow cooker.
- Add the sliced onion and mushrooms on top.
- In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Pour this mixture over the steak and vegetables.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the steak is tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry.
- Stir this into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
- Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
- Serve the cubed steak with the sauce over mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider marinating the cubed steak in the Worcestershire sauce for a few hours before cooking.
- You can also substitute the mushrooms with bell peppers or carrots for a different taste and texture.
