Description

Smash Burger Tacos are a delicious fusion of classic smash burgers and tacos, featuring juicy beef patties topped with cheese and fresh toppings, all wrapped in soft tortillas.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup diced onions
  • ½ cup pickles (optional)
  • ½ cup taco sauce or ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions and form them into balls.
  4. Once the skillet is hot, place the beef balls in the skillet, spacing them apart.
  5. Using a spatula, smash each ball down to form a thin patty and cook for about 3-4 minutes until a nice crust forms on the bottom.
  6. Flip the patties and immediately sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.
  8. While the patties are cooking, warm the flour tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until pliable.
  9. Assemble the tacos by placing a cheesy smash burger patty on each tortilla and topping with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, onions, pickles (if using), and a drizzle of taco sauce or ketchup.
  10. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add sliced jalapeños or a spicy salsa to the tacos.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
