Description

Snickerdoodle Cobbler is a delightful dessert that combines the flavors of snickerdoodle cookies with a warm apple cobbler, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Distribute the apple mixture evenly over the batter.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cobbler to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg to the batter.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
