Description

Snickerdoodle Cobbler is a delicious dessert that combines the flavors of snickerdoodle cookies with a warm, comforting cobbler, featuring apples and a cinnamon topping.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Top with the apple mixture, distributing the apples evenly over the batter.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the apples.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For a nutty flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts to the apple mixture.
  • Try substituting the apples with sliced peaches or pears for a different fruit flavor.
