Description

A delicious Snickerdoodle Cream Cheese Apple Pie that combines the flavors of snickerdoodle cookies with a creamy apple filling.

Ingredients

  • 2 pre-made pie crusts (9-inch)
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (about 3 medium apples)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  3. In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, flour, and nutmeg until well combined.
  4. Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom of the crust.
  5. Layer the apple mixture on top of the cream cheese layer, arranging the apples evenly. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
  6. Cover with the second pie crust, crimping the edges to seal. Cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon for the topping. Sprinkle this mixture over the top crust.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce the temperature to 350°F and continue baking for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let the pie cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing to allow the filling to set.

Notes

  • For a twist, try adding a handful of raisins or chopped nuts to the apple filling for added texture.
  • You can also substitute the apples with pears for a different flavor profile.
