Description

A quick and delicious Spicy Chicken & Cabbage Stir Fry recipe that is perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the onion, bell pepper, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cabbage is wilted.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Add the soy sauce and sriracha, stirring to combine everything well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and mix well. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For added crunch, toss in some chopped peanuts or cashews just before serving.
  • Substitute the chicken with tofu or shrimp for a different protein option. Adjust cooking times accordingly.
