Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Spicy Chicken and String Beans Stir-Fry, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 pound fresh string beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the trimmed string beans to the skillet and stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the string beans and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken with tofu or tempeh.
  • Add bell peppers or carrots for extra color and nutrition.
