Description
Spinach and Feta Clafoutis is a savory baked dish that combines fresh spinach and crumbled feta cheese in a creamy custard-like base, perfect for brunch or a light dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 cup milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or a similar baking dish with olive oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs until well combined.
- Add the flour, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg to the egg mixture. Stir until smooth and no lumps remain.
- Fold in the chopped spinach and crumbled feta cheese until evenly distributed.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the clafoutis is set and lightly golden on top.
- Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, add 1/4 cup of heavy cream to the milk and egg mixture.
- You can substitute the spinach with kale or Swiss chard for a different flavor.
- For a touch of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the batter.
