Description
A quick and delicious recipe for steak and broccoli that can be prepared in just 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over the steak and broccoli. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the steak in the sauce mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Substitute the flank steak with chicken breast or tofu for a different protein option.
