Description

A quick and delicious recipe for steak and broccoli that can be prepared in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked steak to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over the steak and broccoli. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the steak in the sauce mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Substitute the flank steak with chicken breast or tofu for a different protein option.
