Description

A quick and delicious Steak and Cheese Skillet recipe that combines tender flank steak with sautéed vegetables and melted provolone cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional: 4 hoagie rolls, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced flank steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Add the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Return the cooked steak to the skillet and stir to combine with the vegetables.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese over the top and cover the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately, either on its own or in hoagie rolls if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce while cooking the vegetables.
  • You can also substitute the flank steak with chicken or turkey for a different protein option.
