Description

A quick and flavorful stir-fried dish featuring bok choy and ground meat, perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground beef, pork, or chicken
  • 4 cups bok choy, chopped (about 1 pound)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the chopped bok choy to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until it begins to wilt.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground meat with crumbled tofu or tempeh.
  • Add a splash of rice vinegar for a tangy kick or toss in some sliced bell peppers for added color and crunch.
