Description

A quick and delicious stir-fried dish featuring bok choy and your choice of ground meat, perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground beef, pork, or chicken
  • 4 cups bok choy, chopped (about 1 pound)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the chopped bok choy to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bok choy is tender but still crisp.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using), stirring well to combine. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground meat with crumbled tofu or tempeh and adjust cooking times accordingly.
  • Add a splash of rice vinegar or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for an extra kick of flavor.
