Description
A refreshing and fruity Sunset Sangria perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- 3 cups red wine (such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 lime, sliced
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup club soda or lemon-lime soda
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, orange juice, brandy, and simple syrup. Stir well to mix all the ingredients together.
- Add the sliced orange, lemon, lime, and strawberries to the pitcher. Stir gently to combine.
- Refrigerate the sangria for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld. For best results, chill overnight.
- Just before serving, add the club soda or lemon-lime soda to the pitcher and stir gently.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the sangria over the ice. Garnish with additional fruit slices if desired.
Notes
- For a sweeter sangria, increase the amount of simple syrup.
- For a lighter version, use a white wine like Sauvignon Blanc instead of red wine.
- You can also experiment with different fruits such as peaches or blueberries for added flavor.
