Description
Tasty Caramel Apple Pie Bombs are a delightful dessert that combines the flavors of caramel and apple pie in a fun, bite-sized treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce, divided
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (for sprinkling)
- Vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and granulated sugar. Toss until the apples are well-coated.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Place about 2 tablespoons of the apple mixture in the center of each triangle, followed by a drizzle of caramel sauce.
- Fold the edges of the crescent roll over the filling to form a ball, pinching the seams to seal tightly. Place the bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the bombs with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
- Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the warm bombs before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the apple mixture.
- Substitute the apples with pears or peaches for a different fruit twist.
