Description
Indulge in this heavenly Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie, a delightful dessert combining rich chocolate and crunchy pecans.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups pecan halves
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and pecan halves until evenly distributed.
- Pour the filling into a 9-inch unbaked pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.
- Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing to let the filling firm up.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try using dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
- You can also add a tablespoon of bourbon to the filling for an extra kick.
- If you prefer a nut-free version, substitute the pecans with shredded coconut for a different texture and flavor.
