Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stew beef (pre-cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 (1.74-ounce) envelopes brown gravy mix
  • 1 (1.9-ounce) packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 can of water

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Beef and Sauce

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F.
  2. In a 9×13 baking dish or Dutch oven, add the beef pieces.
  3. In a bowl, mix together cream of mushroom soup, 1 packet of brown gravy mix, onion soup mix, and water.
  4. Pour the mixture over the beef and stir everything together to coat the meat well.

Step 2: Slow Cook to Perfection

  1. Cover the dish tightly with foil to lock in steam.
  2. Place in the preheated oven and cook for 3 hours without peeking.

Step 3: Thicken the Gravy & Serve

 

  1. Remove the dish from the oven and take off the foil.
  2. Stir in the remaining brown gravy mix to thicken the sauce.
  3. Serve the tender beef tips and rich gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
