Ingredients
- 2 pounds stew beef (pre-cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 (1.74-ounce) envelopes brown gravy mix
- 1 (1.9-ounce) packet dry onion soup mix
- 1 can of water
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Beef and Sauce
- Preheat your oven to 300°F.
- In a 9×13 baking dish or Dutch oven, add the beef pieces.
- In a bowl, mix together cream of mushroom soup, 1 packet of brown gravy mix, onion soup mix, and water.
- Pour the mixture over the beef and stir everything together to coat the meat well.
Step 2: Slow Cook to Perfection
- Cover the dish tightly with foil to lock in steam.
- Place in the preheated oven and cook for 3 hours without peeking.
Step 3: Thicken the Gravy & Serve
- Remove the dish from the oven and take off the foil.
- Stir in the remaining brown gravy mix to thicken the sauce.
- Serve the tender beef tips and rich gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Notes
- For a deeper flavor, substitute water with beef broth.
- Add sautéed mushrooms or onions for extra texture and richness.
