Description
Toffee Almond Cake is a delicious dessert that combines the rich flavors of toffee and almonds in a moist cake.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup toffee bits
- 1 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the toffee bits and sliced almonds until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a layer of chocolate ganache on top once the cake has cooled.
- You can also substitute the sliced almonds with chopped pecans or walnuts for a different nutty flavor.
