Ingredients
- 1 can (12 ounces) tuna, drained and flaked
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, eggs, and milk until smooth. Add the drained tuna, green onions, cheddar cheese, and parsley (if using). Stir until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- This savory cake can be served warm or at room temperature. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in a teaspoon of garlic powder or a tablespoon of Dijon mustard into the wet ingredients.
- You can also substitute the cheddar cheese with feta or mozzarella for a different taste.
