Description
Turtle Poke Cake is a decadent dessert that combines chocolate cake with sweetened condensed milk, chocolate syrup, whipped topping, caramel sauce, and chopped pecans for a rich and indulgent treat.
Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- 1 cup chocolate syrup
- 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until well blended.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 15 minutes.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the cake, about 1 inch apart.
- In a separate bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup until smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
- Allow the cake to cool completely, then spread the whipped topping over the top.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try using dark chocolate cake mix instead of regular chocolate.
- You can substitute the pecans with walnuts or omit the nuts entirely for a nut-free version.
- For a fun twist, add a layer of sliced bananas on top of the whipped topping before drizzling with caramel.
