Description

Turtle Poke Cake is a decadent dessert that combines chocolate cake with sweetened condensed milk, chocolate syrup, whipped topping, caramel sauce, and chopped pecans for a rich and indulgent treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
  • 1 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until well blended.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 15 minutes.
  5. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the cake, about 1 inch apart.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup until smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely, then spread the whipped topping over the top.
  8. Drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try using dark chocolate cake mix instead of regular chocolate.
  • You can substitute the pecans with walnuts or omit the nuts entirely for a nut-free version.
  • For a fun twist, add a layer of sliced bananas on top of the whipped topping before drizzling with caramel.
