The Ultimate Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Black Forest Cake delights your taste buds with its rich chocolate layers, creamy whipped topping, and delightful cherries.


Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) Morello cherries, drained and juice reserved
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 Ferrero Rocher chocolates, chopped
  • Chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth (the batter will be thin).
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
  6. Once the cakes are cool, slice each cake in half horizontally to create four layers.
  7. Place one layer on a serving plate. Drizzle with some reserved cherry juice, then spread a layer of whipped cream (made by beating heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form) over the top. Add a layer of cherries and sprinkle with chopped Ferrero Rocher.
  8. Repeat the process with the next two layers, finishing with the last cake layer on top.
  9. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining whipped cream. Garnish with chocolate shavings and whole Ferrero Rocher chocolates.
  10. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a deeper chocolate flavor, add 1 teaspoon of espresso powder to the batter.
