The Ultimate Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Black Forest Cake delights your taste buds with its rich chocolate layers, creamy whipped topping, and delightful cherries.
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 jar (24 ounces) Morello cherries, drained and juice reserved
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 Ferrero Rocher chocolates, chopped
- Chocolate shavings (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
- Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth (the batter will be thin).
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
- Once the cakes are cool, slice each cake in half horizontally to create four layers.
- Place one layer on a serving plate. Drizzle with some reserved cherry juice, then spread a layer of whipped cream (made by beating heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form) over the top. Add a layer of cherries and sprinkle with chopped Ferrero Rocher.
- Repeat the process with the next two layers, finishing with the last cake layer on top.
- Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining whipped cream. Garnish with chocolate shavings and whole Ferrero Rocher chocolates.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a deeper chocolate flavor, add 1 teaspoon of espresso powder to the batter.
- Substitute the Morello cherries with fresh raspberries or strawberries for a different fruity twist.
