Description

Amish Winter Bliss Casserole is a cozy comfort dish perfect for cold weather, featuring a hearty mix of ground beef, vegetables, and creamy mushroom soup topped with cheese and breadcrumbs.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion, diced potatoes, carrots, and celery to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables start to soften.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Pour the soup mixture over the beef and vegetable mixture in the skillet. Stir until everything is well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  8. In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter, then sprinkle this mixture over the cheese layer.
  9. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  11. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
