Ingredients

  • 4 Honeycrisp apples, cored and halved
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Add the chopped pecans and rolled oats (if using) to the mixture, and stir until the pecans are well coated.
  4. Place the cored and halved Honeycrisp apples in a baking dish, cut side up. Spoon the butter pecan mixture evenly over the apples.
  5. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
