Description

Baked Pears with Berries, Honey & Nuts are delightful!

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
  • 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mixed berries, honey, chopped nuts, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Stir until well combined.
  3. Place the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish. Spoon the berry and nut mixture evenly over each pear half.
  4. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  5. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the pears are tender and slightly caramelized.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Top with vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt if desired.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg or ginger along with the cinnamon.
  • Substitute maple syrup for honey for a different sweetness profile.
