Baked Pears with Berries, Honey & Nuts are delightful!
Ingredients
- 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
- 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mixed berries, honey, chopped nuts, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Stir until well combined.
- Place the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish. Spoon the berry and nut mixture evenly over each pear half.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the pears are tender and slightly caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Top with vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt if desired.
Notes
- For added flavor, sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg or ginger along with the cinnamon.
- Substitute maple syrup for honey for a different sweetness profile.
