Delicious and moist Banana Bread Brownies that combine the flavors of banana bread and brownies into a delightful dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter, mixing until well blended.
- Add the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture, stirring until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts or chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of espresso powder to the batter.
- Substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier twist.
