A quick and tasty Beef with Oyster Sauce Stir-Fry recipe that combines tender beef, fresh vegetables, and a savory sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 3 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Marinate the beef: Toss the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Let stand for 10–15 minutes.
- Make the sauce: Whisk together oyster sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes, until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, and broccoli to the same pan. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the pan and pour in the sauce. Toss everything together and cook for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and vegetables.
- Serve immediately over steamed white rice or noodles.
Notes
- For tender beef, slice it thinly against the grain and avoid overcrowding the pan while stir-frying.
