Description

A quick and delicious Broccoli Shrimp Stir-Fry recipe that combines fresh vegetables and shrimp in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • ½ small onion, sliced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds, optional

Instructions

  1. Make the sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and chicken broth.
  2. Cook the shrimp: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. Stir-fry the vegetables: Add the remaining oil. Add broccoli and onion and cook for 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and ginger and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Add the sauce: Pour the sauce into the skillet and toss with the broccoli. Cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Thicken: Mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp water. Stir into the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
  6. Return the shrimp: Add the shrimp back to the skillet and toss everything together for about 1 minute.
  7. Finish: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve: Serve hot over steamed white rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Feel free to substitute shrimp with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
  • This dish can be served over rice or noodles, depending on your preference.
