Description
Caramel Apple Dumpling Bombs are a delightful dessert featuring diced apples wrapped in crescent roll dough, baked to perfection and drizzled with caramel sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup caramel sauce
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Prepare apples: Mix diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
- Prepare dough: Separate crescent dough into triangles. Arrange two triangles together for each dumpling, pressing the seams closed.
- Fill dumplings: Divide the apple mixture among the four dough portions. Fold the dough around the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
- Arrange: Place all four dumpling bombs seam-side down in the baking dish.
- Add topping: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Add caramel: Pour caramel sauce around the dumplings.
- Bake: Bake for 25–35 minutes, until golden brown and the apples are tender. Cover loosely with foil if the tops brown too quickly.
- Serve: Allow to cool for 5–10 minutes before serving warm with extra caramel sauce.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider adding chopped nuts to the apple mixture.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
