Description
A delicious dessert combining caramel, apples, and pecans in a warm cobbler.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are well coated.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix together the chopped pecans, flour, oats, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly.
- Sprinkle this topping evenly over the apple mixture in the baking dish.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the topping, ensuring it covers as much as possible.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the apple mixture.
- Substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds for a different nutty taste.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert!
