A delicious dessert combining caramel, apples, and pecans in a warm cobbler.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are well coated.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, mix together the chopped pecans, flour, oats, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the apple mixture in the baking dish.
  7. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the topping, ensuring it covers as much as possible.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  9. Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
