A delicious and cheesy baked tortellini casserole that is easy to prepare and perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cheese tortellini, uncooked
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth.
- Gently fold the cooked tortellini into the sauce mixture until evenly coated.
- Transfer the tortellini mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
Notes
- For a meatier version, add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage to the tortellini mixture before baking.
- To make it a veggie-packed dish, stir in sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers into the sauce mixture.
