Description
A delicious Cherry Oreo Cheesecake that combines the rich flavors of cream cheese and Oreo cookies with a sweet cherry topping.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups Oreo cookie crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F.
- In a medium bowl, combine the Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let it cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the sour cream until smooth.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cooled Oreo crust in the springform pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven and crack the door open, allowing the cheesecake to cool in the oven for 1 hour.
- After the cheesecake has cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the top of the cheesecake and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the cream cheese mixture.
- You can substitute the cherry pie filling with blueberry or strawberry for a different fruit topping.
