Description

A delicious and indulgent dessert combining chocolate, caramel, and pretzels in a simple dump cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15.25 oz) box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 cups mini pretzels, lightly crushed
  • ½ cup toffee bits
  • ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup caramel sauce, warmed
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly into the baking dish and drizzle 1 cup of caramel sauce over it.
  3. Sprinkle the crushed pretzels evenly over the caramel, then scatter the toffee bits and chopped pecans (if using) over the pretzels.
  4. Sprinkle the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips evenly on top.
  5. Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix evenly over the entire surface without stirring.
  6. Whisk together the melted butter and milk, then slowly drizzle the mixture over the dry cake mix, trying to moisten as much of the surface as possible without mixing.
  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is set and the edges are bubbling, with the center slightly gooey.
  8. Let the cake cool for 10–15 minutes, then drizzle with warmed caramel sauce and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips and flaky sea salt, if desired.
  9. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, extra caramel sauce, and crushed pretzels for added crunch.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality chocolate chips.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preferences.
  • This cake is best served warm for the gooey texture.
