Description

Delicious Church Lady Pecan Pie Crescent Bites that combine the flavors of pecan pie with the convenience of crescent roll dough.

Ingredients

  • 2 (8 oz/226 g) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup (110 g) chopped pecans
  • ½ cup (110 g) packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) light corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
  • 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • Chopped toasted pecans (optional garnish)
  • Caramel drizzle (optional garnish)
  • Powdered sugar (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, egg, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Fold in the chopped pecans until evenly coated.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. If using crescent sheets, cut each sheet into 8 squares.
  4. Place about 1 tablespoon of pecan filling in the center of each triangle or square. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges tightly to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush each bite with the egg wash. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  6. Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Add a little more milk if needed to reach a drizzle consistency.
  7. Let the bites cool for 5 minutes. Drizzle with the vanilla glaze. Sprinkle with toasted pecans or drizzle with caramel, if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
  • Make sure to seal the edges well to prevent the filling from leaking out during baking.
  • These bites can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
