Description

Crispy Roasted Brussels Sprouts that Will Wow Your Tastebuds!

Ingredients

  • 1½ lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ⅓ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Trim the tough stem ends, remove any damaged outer leaves, and cut each sprout in half lengthwise. Pat them dry thoroughly.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes, if using.
  4. Spread the sprouts in a single layer with the cut sides facing down. Leave space between them to help them crisp up.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, without disturbing them too much, until the cut sides are deeply golden and the outer leaves are crispy. Smaller sprouts may cook faster.
  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan over the sprouts during the final 3–5 minutes of roasting. Return the pan to the oven until the cheese melts and becomes lightly golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and drizzle with lemon juice. Add lemon zest and chopped parsley, if desired.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy while the sprouts are hot and crispy.

Notes

  • Keep them dry: Moisture is the enemy of crispiness, so dry the sprouts thoroughly before seasoning.
  • Roast cut-side down: Direct contact with the hot pan helps create a beautifully caramelized surface.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan: Use two baking sheets if necessary.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan: It melts and browns better than many pre-shredded varieties.
  • For extra flavor: Drizzle with 1 teaspoon of balsamic glaze or honey just before serving.
