Description

A crispy, cheesy, loaded taco wrap made with seasoned beef, creamy nacho cheese, a crunchy tostada shell, sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes—all folded into a large flour tortilla and toasted until golden.

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 120 ml water
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 4 large burrito-size flour tortillas, about 25 cm
  • 4 small tostada shells
  • 150 g nacho cheese sauce or queso
  • 120 g sour cream
  • 150 g shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
  • 150 g shredded lettuce
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion. Cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking the beef apart as it cooks.
  2. Drain excess grease if needed. Add garlic, taco seasoning, salt, pepper, and water. Simmer for 3–5 minutes, until the liquid has mostly evaporated and the beef is flavorful.
  3. Warm the flour tortillas briefly in the microwave or a dry skillet so they’re flexible. Warm the nacho cheese until smooth.
  4. Place one large tortilla on a flat surface. Spoon about 120 g of taco beef into the center, leaving plenty of space around the edges.
  5. Drizzle with nacho cheese, then place one tostada shell directly on top.
  6. Spread sour cream over the tostada. Add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
  7. Fold the edges of the large tortilla toward the center, working your way around to create a sealed, roughly hexagonal package.
  8. Heat a little oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the crunch wrap seam-side down first.
  9. Cook for 2–3 minutes, until golden brown and sealed. Carefully flip and cook the other side for another 2–3 minutes.
  10. Slice in half and serve immediately with salsa, hot sauce, guacamole, or extra sour cream.

Notes

  • Add jalapeños for heat.
  • Add black beans or refried beans.
  • Swap beef for seasoned chicken.
  • Add avocado or guacamole.
  • Use pepper Jack cheese for extra spice.
  • Don’t overfill the center to make folding easier.
