Dolly Parton’s Banana Pudding is a delightful dessert that combines creamy pudding, ripe bananas, and crunchy vanilla wafers for a delicious treat.
Ingredients
- 1 (5.1 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups cold whole milk
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, thawed
- 5–6 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 (11 oz) box vanilla wafers
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes, until thickened.
- Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually mix the pudding mixture into the cream cheese until completely combined.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping.
- Arrange a layer of vanilla wafers in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish.
- Add a layer of sliced bananas.
- Spread half of the pudding mixture over the bananas.
- Repeat with another layer of wafers, bananas, and the remaining pudding.
- Finish with crushed vanilla wafers or whole wafers on top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.
Notes
- For the best texture, use bananas that are ripe but still firm.
- Add a few fresh banana slices just before serving for a fresher finish.
