Description
A delightful dessert combining glazed donuts and creamy ice cream, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 dozen glazed donuts
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
- 1 cup chocolate fudge sauce
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Start by slicing each glazed donut in half horizontally to create a top and bottom layer.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, arrange half of the donut halves in a single layer, cut side up.
- Spread half of the softened vanilla ice cream evenly over the donut layer.
- Drizzle half of the chocolate fudge sauce over the ice cream.
- Place the remaining donut halves on top of the fudge sauce, cut side down.
- Spread the remaining vanilla ice cream over the second layer of donuts.
- Drizzle the rest of the chocolate fudge sauce on top of the ice cream.
- Cover the cake with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- Once frozen, remove the cake from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes for easier slicing.
- Top with whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles, and chopped nuts if desired before serving.
Notes
- For a fun twist, try using different flavored ice cream, such as chocolate or strawberry.
- You can also substitute the glazed donuts with chocolate or jelly-filled donuts for added variety.
